The incident took place in Norwalk around 9 a.m., Monday, Aug. 29 on Sylvester Court.

According to Lt. Joe Dinho of the Norwalk Police, the department received a 911 call from a state Marshal attempting to serve an eviction order at Sylvester Court residence.

He reported that there was a group gathered at the address interfering with his ability to perform his duties, Dinho said.

Police responded and limited access to the area for the public’s safety.

During the incident two people were taken into custody, one for trespassing and the second for menacing officers with the ax and interfering with their duties, he added.

There were no injuries and both individuals were transported to the Norwalk Police Department.

"It is important to note that all the other protesters and bystanders were very peaceful," the department said. "We thank them for their cooperation and the area residents for their understanding."
