A 48-year-old area man was arrested for allegedly attacking a victim and forcing his face into a puddle of water during the assault, Milford Police said.

Bernard DeSantis, of Milford, was arrested on Sunday, Aug. 18, on charges of assault and breach of peace after Milford Police responded to an East Broadway residence for the report of a fight, said the Milford Police.

According to police, an investigation found that DeSantis had allegedly hit the victim multiple times and then dragged him to a puddle in the roadway and pushed his face in the water, police said.

The fight started after the victim yelled at DeSantis for driving his vehicle excessively fast earlier in the day. DeSantis came back later in the day, allegedly upset over what was said and confronted the victim, police said.

DeSantis was released on a promise to appear notice.
