NORWALK, Conn. -- Two people of the three people who died in a four-car crash on the Taconic State Parkway in Yorktown, N.Y., Saturday were former Norwalk residents, according to The Hour.
Ledell Mulvaney, 61, and Katherine Mulvaney, 31, were both graduated from Norwalk High School. They moved to Brooklyn six years ago, according to the Hour.
Don Mulvaney, Ledell's husband and Katherine's father, was injured in the crash that also killed 2 year-old Leona Sinanovic of the Bronx.
The First Congregational Church of Norwalk will hold a vigil in the Mulvaneys' memory at 7 p.m. Monday, the Hour reported.
The four-car crash Saturday afternoon also injured eight others, according to New York State Police.
Following an investigation, it was determined that a 2004 BMW sport utility vehicle operated by 33-year-old Nerim Sinanovic was traveling northbound when it exited the roadway onto the center median and became airborne into the southbound lanes, state police said.
The BMW struck a 2001 Toyota operated by Donald M. Mulvaney, 63, of Brooklyn, and a 2015 Ford operated by 28-year-old Tara F. Duggins of Hampton, Va.
A 2003 Acura, operated by Jennifer Enriquez, 27, of Peekskill, sideswiped Mulvaney’s vehicle and came to rest after striking the center guardrail.
Leona Sinanovic, 2 years old, of the Bronx, a rear passenger of the BMW, died as a result of the collision. Also killed were Ledell Mulvaney, age 61, and Katherine Mulvaney, 31 years old, both of Brooklyn.
Ledell Mulvaney and Katherine Mulvaney were also passengers in the vehicle operated by Donald Mulvaney.
Ledell Mulvaney and Katherine Mulvaney were pronounced dead at the scene. Donald Mulvaney remains in critical condition late Sunday afternoon.
Nerim Sinanovic and two other passengers in his vehicle were transported to Westchester Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
