Attorney Stephan Seeger said the case was a mistake from the beginning, and they plan to pursue legal remedies over "inappropriate" comments made by the Norwalk police union. Assault charges were filed against Simms, who was accused of hitting the host of the Dec. 5, 2015 party, The Hour reports.
Police union officials also filed an ethics complaint against Simms, saying that he was abusive to the officers who responded to a report of a fight at the party on Flax Hill Road. Seeger did not specify what legal remedies would be pursued or when, The Hour says.
