A member of the Community Policing Unit, Delgado was given the award at the Police Commission meeting Monday night.

He was nominated by Sgt. Tom Fern for his extensive work with the PAL Children's Holiday Party and the Person-to-Person community outreach coat drive. The holiday party hosted 150 kids at Columbus Magnet School earlier this month, with a visit from Santa and gifts for the kids. Delgado played a large role in securing donations for the party, including 30 bicycles for the kids.

"Officer Delgado personifies what a Community Policing Officer is supposed to be," the Norwalk Police Department said.
