NORWALK, Conn. — A Brooklyn man tried to open a store credit card at a Best Buy in Norwalk using a fake New Jersey ID, according to the Hour.
Police told the Hour that 51-year-old Philippe Lamour went into the Best Buy on Connecticut Avenue on Monday and tried to use the fake driver's license to get a store credit card. Employees told police that Lamour appeared nervous while he was waiting for the application to process, and that one employee pretended to process it while another called the police, the Hour reported.
The employees faked that the application had been approved, at which point Lamour tried to buy a tablet that cost $2,000, the Hour reported. He then tried to get the ID back, but the employee told him that he'd get it when police showed up, according to the Hour.
Lamour gave police two different IDs with different names, according to the Hour. He was charged with forgery and criminal impersonation, and also has outstanding forgery warrants in other states as well, according to the Hour.
