NORWALK, Conn. -- A Waterbury man who was charged last month with selling Fentanyl-laced crack is now facing assault charges in connection with one of seven heroin overdoses that occurred in a single day in Norwalk in July, police said.
Derrick Wiggins, 43, had been arrested on Monday, July 24 in an undercover bust where police said he had crack cocaine laced with Fentanyl, a powerful opiate. The arrest came after a busy weekend where a total of seven people in Norwalk overdosed on crack laced with an opiate, police said. Two people died as a result of the overdoses.
