NORWALK, Conn. – Lawrence L. Hauser of Norwalk, a Superior Court judge, died Nov. 20 at Norwalk Hospital. He was 69.
A prominent attorney in Norwalk, Hauser received many awards for civic service.
He was born Dec. 16, 1942, in Norwalk to Charles and Aurora Hauser. He graduated from Fairfield Preparatory School, Georgetown University and George Washington University School of Law. He lived locally all of his life and spent many years as a coach and lifeguard at Roton Point Club.
Hauser was married to Kathleen Sugar Hauser. He was a lifetime member and president of Shore and Country Club. In 1985, he was appointed a Connecticut Superior Court judge. He served primarily in Bridgeport for the past 28 years.
One of his proudest accomplishments was developing the first domestic-violence docket in Connecticut.
Hauser is survived by his wife; three daughters, Nicky, Lauren and Susu; and a brother, Charles R. Hauser.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, at Magner Funeral Home in Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Norwalk. Burial will be private. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at Shore and Country Club after the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Institute for Neurodegenerative Disorders.
