Joseph Essenyi Jr., 84, Lifelong Norwalk Resident, Korean War Veteran

NORWALK, Conn. -- Joseph Essenyi Jr., 84, a lifelong resident of Norwalk, died Saturday, April 18.

He was born Aug. 13, 1930, to Joseph and Elizabeth Kepes Essenyi of Norwalk.

Essenyi served in the Korean War.

He was a longtime member of the Calvin Reformed Church (formerly Hungarian Reformed Church), a member of the Church Consistory, and was in the youth choir in his earlier years.

Survivors include one brother, Robert A. Essenyi of Norwalk; and one sister, Elizabeth (Donald) Maurice of Norwalk.

Calling hours will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk.

Funeral services will be private.
