NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Jorena "Jo Jo" Catrell Alston, of New Haven, died suddenly Monday, Oct. 26. She was 45.
She was born in Stamford to the late Joseph Alston and surviving Phyllis Medley Alston.
She is survived by her mother, Phyllis Medley Alston of New Haven; a son, Peter Deering; daughter-in-law, Nicole Deering; a grandson, Stephan Deering of Deland, Fla; one sister: Phyllis Alston, Jr. of Norwalk; two nieces, Whitney Crummer of Stamford and Jessica Montgomery of Norwalk; a nephew, Joshua Dupree of Norwalk; a grand-niece, Paige Brown of Stamford; and many other family members.
A celebration of her life will take place Wednesday at Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 29 Grove St., Stamford. Calling hours will be from 10 am to noon, with services immediately following at the church.
Arrangements are in the care of Collins Funeral Home.
