Antoinette M. Camarota, 103, Of Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. -- Antoinette M. Camarota, 103, wife of the late Arthur Camarota, passed peacefully May 26, 2016, in her home in Norwalk. 

Born Sept. 20, 1912, in Norwalk, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Josephine Amato.

Aside from being a homemaker, Camarota was involved in various organizations through St. Joseph church for more than 53 years, dedicating her time to the Children of Mary Altar Society, various fundraisers and decorating the altar. 

She is survived by her children, Diana and her husband Richard Zakhar of Norwalk and Vincent Camarota and his wife Kathy of Brookfield; six grandchildren, Vincent Camarota and his wife Jennifer of Trumbull, Timothy Camarota and his wife Ilona of Shelton, Sherri Camarota of Waterbury, Kimberly and her husband Brian Troccolo, of Southington, Jason Zakhar and his wife Jacki of Norwalk and Matthew Camarota and his wife Lindsey of North Port, Fla.; four great-grandchildren, Halle and Gia Camarota and Dominic and Brianna Troccolo; sister-in-law Mary Amato; and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her husband Arthur, she was predeceased by her siblings, Arthur, James, and Ralph Amato, Anna Connelly, Frances Manzi, Mary Pellegrino and Faye Shepherd. 

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Church, 85 S. Main St., Norwalk. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Ave, Norwalk.
