NORWALK, Conn. — Norwalk police were warning drivers to avoid the area of Route 1/Connecticut Avenue after a water main break closed the eastbound lanes on Thursday morning.

The water main break is between Scribner Avenue and Exit 14 of I-95.

It could take up to eight hours to repair the water main, according to a Tweet from the Norwalk Police Department.

The break was reported at about 7:20 a.m. Thursday near the Best Buy.
