Norwalk Begins First Christmas Tree Pickups This Week

NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk residents are reminded that Christmas trees will be collected twice during the month of January.

The first week of pickups is Monday, Jan. 4, through Friday, Jan.8. The second week is from Tuesday, Jan.19, through Friday, Jan.22. 

All trees should be placed curbside by 6 a.m. on the Monday of the collection week. No plastic bags or decorations are allowed. 

The Yard Debris Site, located at 15 S. Smith St., will be open for two weeks in January for Christmas tree drop-off: Monday, Jan. 4, through Saturday Jan. 9, and Tuesday, Jan. 19, through Saturday, Jan. 23. The Yard Waste Site will be closed Monday, Jan. 18, for the Martin Luther King holiday.

The Yard Waste Site, will be open during the winter through April 2 on Wednesdays, weather permitting.
