The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced on Saturday, Oct. 6 that power had been fully restored to the New Haven Line.
“Regular New Haven line service will resume Monday morning, Oct. 7, following successful initial testing of a new electrical substation at Mount Vernon,” the MTA said in its statement.
The line has been hampered for more than a week following a Con Edison Sept. 25 cable failure that cut the electric power on the line. Approximately 125,000 ride on the line, which runs from New Haven, Conn., to Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan, every day.
The MTA has also approved a plan to issue credits to weekly and monthly ticket holders affected by the train service interruption. For details regarding how to obtain those credits, click here.
