Traffic stoppages will be occurring between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to remove rock in the construction area, the DOT said.

The controlled removal of the rock, including some blasting, is part of the reconstruction work along both the northbound and southbound sides of I-95 between Taylor Avenue and Route 7.

The blasting operation is scheduled to start Tuesday, June 11, and be completed by June 27, weather permitting.

Slow-moving roadblocks will be used to halt traffic, the DOT said. Motorists can expect significant delays in the area.

During blasting operations, traffic on I-95 in both directions will be halted for five- to 10-minute intervals two or three times between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Signs will be used to provide advance warning and to provide information on traffic conditions in the area.
