Connecticut Biologists Aim To Bring Scallops Back To Long Island Sound

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- With summer blazing along, no meal hits the spot better than fresh, local, seafood. Local clams, oysters, and lobster go from Long Island Sound to plate within the same day. However, the prized sea scallops in the waters off Connecticut and New York have not been so lucky. Milford Laboratories is hoping to change that.

According to a recent Wall Street Journal article, the Milford based lab is part of a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration fisheries project to help restore the once abundant mollusk to its former prominence in the Long Island Sound.
