NORWALK, Conn. — The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk is saying goodbye to a great white shark that has been on display for years.
What looked like a scene from “Jaws” was just staff of The Maritime Aquarium moving a Fiberglas model of a great white shark.
The model is a cast of a 16-foot great white that was caught in the eastern end of Long Island Sound in the early 1970s.
It has been hanging in The Maritime Aquarium for many years, but was removed Monday to make way for construction of a new second-floor in the Aquarium’s Maritime Hall wing.
