NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk’s Center for Contemporary Printmaking has appointed artist and art appraiser Robin Simon to its board of directors.
Simon, who has worked in the fine arts field for 30 years, is a graduate of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. While studying there, she spent a year in Italy learning printmaking.
She moved to New York City in 1981, where she wore many hats in the art world.
Now a resident of Bedford, Simon has been involved with the Katonah Museum of Art. She started the museum’s Art Adventures, a hands-on art making/art appreciation program for children, and also was head docent trainer and assistant to the director, Susan Edwards, on the exhibition, "Behind Closed Doors."
Comprised of nine members, the Center for Contemporary Printmaking's board of directors is responsible for guiding and supporting its mission to create original prints and to educate the community about prints and printmaking.
"The center is thrilled to add Robin to our board of directors,” said its chairman, Bill Frank.
“She adds an extraordinary skill set to the board as an appraiser, print maker and a well-respected member of the arts community in Connecticut and New York," he added.
