Klaff's Donates Golf Outing Proceeds To Norwalk's Lockwood-Mathews Mansion

NORWALK, CONN. -- In one of the largest corporate gifts this year, a South Norwalk home design firm has donated close to $9,000 to the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum.

Klaff’s, which raises money for local organizations with its annual Jerry Levine Charity Golf Outing, presented museum officials with a check for $8,811.90 at a ceremony there on Friday, Dec. 11.

“Supporting the mansion, a national historic landmark and icon of Victorian-era architecture and design, has been an important part of our charitable endeavors for many years,” said Klaff’s chairman and CEO Joe Passero, a longtime museum trustee.

The museum is a major artistic and cultural destination for the community, Passero added.

Thanking Klaff’s, board chairwoman Patsy Brescia said the donation and the museum’s ongoing relationship with the firm “have been invaluable to the museum’s mission and its future.”

The museum’s executive director Susan Gilgore also had kind words for Klaff’s.

The donation, she said, “will have a major impact on our future school tours, our cultural and educational programs, and the preservation of this magnificent landmark.”

The museum is located at 295 West Ave., Norwalk.

Klaff's also has showrooms in Danbury and Scarsdale.
