NORWALK, Conn. – Organizers of A Taste of Fairfield County are calling the event at Aitoro in Norwalk a huge success, saying it brought together 150 hungry folks and close to a dozen food vendors.
The fundraiser, which featured food and drink from venues around the region, as well as live music and a presentation, was hosted by the Norwalk-based nonprofit Family & Children’s Agency’s Junior Board of Advisors.
Proceeds will go to support the agency’s programs, which serve families with young children.
The evening’s success was “a testament to the hard work and preparation by the Junior Board of Advisors,” said Robert Cashel, FCA’s president and CEO. “It was a successful evening of fundraising and friend-raising—acquainting new individuals in the community with the work of FCA. A special thanks, as well, to everyone at Aitoro for their continued support.”
Besides raising money, it also spurred friendships, “acquainting new individuals in the community with the work of FCA,” he added.
Food vendors included A Dash of Salt, Bar Sugo, Capriccio Café, DiMare Pastry Shop, Flipside Burger and Bar, Local, Norm Bloom & Son Copps Island Oysters, Norwalk Community College’s culinary program, The Pantry, Rowayton Pizza, Taco Loco, Tacos Mexico and Viva Restaurant.
