Tis The Season: Holiday Lights Going Up In Downtown Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. — Hanging lights over Danbury's Main Street to brighten the city's holidays is more than a one-person job. A crew of workers from Rizzo Electrical was carefully hanging each section high above the roadway on Tuesday.

This work is part of the preparation for Light the Lights, a festive event held by CityCenter Danbury each year to welcome Santa Claus and the Christmas holidays.

Light the Lights will take place Saturday, Dec. 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. Mayor Mark Boughton will light up downtown, Santa will arrive to Library Plaza by fire truck, and a lighted fire truck parade will wind its way from Rose Street to Elmwood Park and back again.

The event is free.
