NORWALK, Conn. -- Coastal Orthopaedics of Norwalk is proud to announce Dr. Joshua Frank has earned one of the most highly recognized certifications in the industry.
The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery Subspecialty Certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine is "a credential that is known as the Gold Standard around the world," according to a news release. This award is a way to demonstrate commitment to the highest quality care and recognition for the years of work needed to achieve expertise. "This sets Dr. Frank apart as a recognized specialist in the eyes of patients, hospitals, employers and insurers," continued the release.
The certificate is for board-certified orthopedic surgeons with demonstrated qualifications in sports medicine, a practice characterized by a majority of cases in sports medicine and contributions to this field.
Frank received his medical training at UPenn and the Hospital for Joint Diseases and the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic. He's focused injured athletes and their return to function. He's participated in the care of players from the L.A. Lakers, Dodgers and Kings, Anaheim Ducks, USC football teams, as well as arena football and lacrosse players.
In private practice, Frank has been treating many high school and college football teams, participating in the advancements of sports medicine, focusing on the training and care of young athletes. Frank also took the sports medicine exam for certification.
Coastal Orthopaedics' offices are located in Norwalk, Darien, Westport and New Canaan. A special walk-in urgent care center, known as Coastal Ortho Express, is in the iPark Medical Center, 761 Main Ave., Norwalk. Many sports injuries are treated promptly at the walk-in center.
