FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Have a sweet tooth? National Junk Food Day might be the holiday for you.

Fairfield County and the nation will indulge its urge for sweet and salty snacks on July 21 and celebrate National Junk Food Day.

Each year, the average American eats about 25 pounds of candy and about 45 slices of pizza. The United States’ candy market annually generates up to $23 billion in revenue, including $2 billion in sales during Halloween alone.

Give in to your sweet tooth today, but remember to leave some room for National Vanilla Ice Cream Day on July 23.
