WordPress For Businesses Class Offered At Norwalk Library

NORWALK, Conn. -- Small business owners in need of a website or internet marketing upgrade can attend a SCORE WordPress workshop offered at the Norwalk Public Library on Wednesday, Dec. 2.

The workshop will be run by Jeff Seaver and Jon Dupree as part of their series of workshops.

The program will run from 6 to 8 p.m. in the library's main auditorium at 1 Belden Ave. Small business owners will learn how to create, upgrade and maintain a web presence using WordPress, a website development platform ideally suited for many small business owners. 

The class will be useful for both beginning and intermediate users with topics including: How to setup a beginner WordPress website in minutes; the differences between standard and customized themes; how to have WordPress host your site; how to download and install WordPress on your own; shopping for and customizing WordPress themes; useful plug-ins and widgets, and managing users and site administration.

Seaver owns Seaver Interactive, a website design and Internet marketing agency in Westport, with more than 20 years of experience building websites and in the communication arts. He teaches Internet marketing at the graduate school level and is a SCORE mentor.

Dupree owns Calibrate Marketing & Mentoring and has 20 years experience positioning products and companies in the B2B market. He has trained and developed marketing strategies for start-ups and SMB to improve their digital performance for search engines, e-mail marketing and social media.
