Charlotte Rogan, author of the national bestseller "The Lifeboat," will speak about her new book, "Now and Again" at noon Wednesday, May 11 in the library's main auditorium. A light lunch will be served courtesy of the library.

The novel opens with Oklahoma native and munitions plant worker Maggie Rayburn returning from her lunch break to spot a file on her boss’s desk. The decision to look inside the file triggers a chain of events that upend her life, throwing her world into disarray and launching a story about cause and effect, action and consequence.

Rogan studied architecture at Princeton University and worked for a large construction firm before turning to fiction.

Her debut novel, "The Lifeboat," was nominated for The Guardian first book award and the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award, and has been translated into 26 languages.

After many years in Dallas and a year in Johannesburg, Rogan now lives in Westport.
