South Norwalk Library Holds Financial Education Events

NORWALK, Conn. -- The SoNo Branch Library introduces the Money Matters workshop series, beginning with "How to Create and Maintain a Spending Plan," on Tuesday, May 17.

During this personal budgeting workshop, from 6 to 8 p.m., participants learn how to manage money by preparing a personal spending plan and identifying ways to decrease spending and increase income. 

Workshop presenter Patrick Gentile, a volunteer tax preparer for various sites in Fairfield County, will show participants how to reach their objectives by listing the steps for setting financial goals, and by preparing a spending plan to estimate monthly income and expenses.

The library follows up its first Money Matters workshop with "How to Save for Your Financial Future," on Tuesday, May 24, from 6 to 8pm. During this personal budgeting workshop, participants identify ways to save money and saving options that can help them reach their financial goals. The class will focus on why it is important to save money and how to effectively save for a home, a car, college tuition, vacations and other large expense goals.
