NORWALK, Conn. -- The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk will treat families as it becomes the Aqua-Scarium on Halloween.
“With Halloween on a Saturday, our Aqua-Scarium event gives kids – and adults – plenty of time to test out and show off their costumes during the day, and still get home in plenty of time for neighborhood trick-or-treating that evening,” said Dave Sigworth, Aquarium "spokesmonster."
For Aqua-Scarium, every kid from age 3 to 12 in costume will receive free admission with each paying adult. Adult admission is $19.95.
Marvel Comics' Spider-Man will greet and take photos with guests Oct. 31. The appearance of the friendly neighborhood web-slinger is free with admission.
Kids can trick or treat throughout the galleries and collect candy and prizes in a safe environment. They can decorate a free trick-or-treat bag at Aqua-Scarium to use to collect their treats.
Guests can design a toy pirate boat at the building station for a $5 fee and meet a live bearded dragon.
Wells Noonan of Face-Painting by Wells will transform faces into heroes, creatures, and princesses from 11 a.m, to 3 p.m.
Way of the Sword of Ridgefield will stage pirate battles from 1 to 3 p.m.
Although the aquarium will be decorated for Halloween, there will be no frightening aspects for young children.
