NORWALK, Conn. -- A presentation on "Vietnam, One Family's Story of Military Service and Protest" is set for Saturday, Nov. 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the SoNo Branch Library, 10 Washington St. in South Norwalk.
The guest speaker is Tony Velez, a retired Kean University art professor and Norwalk Arts Commission member.
Velez, who appeared in the PBS documentary "The Draft" in April, volunteered for the draft, and served as a soldier in Vietnam with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment until late 1967.
Following his return he saw his two younger brothers drafted. His brother Henry served 1968-69 in Vietnam with 9th Infantry Division. His brother Paul had orders for Vietnam, but they were changed because of his brother's involvement in the anti-war movement and he was sent to Germany instead. Photographs will highlight this talk.
This event is free and open to the public.
Registration is available online or by calling 203-899.2790 ext. 15902.
