Kids Learn About Rainforest At Norwalk Stepping Stones Museum

NORWALK, Conn. -- The Stepping Stones Museum for Children in Norwalk continues its theme for 2016 of adventure and exploration.

The new Explore Rainforest Adventure runs to June 13.

It gives kids a chance to actually climb a Kapok tree to explore life high in the canopy.

Among an array of programs for kids,  “Tech Time” Wednesdays at noon gives even very young kids exposure to technology. 

Offerings at the museum include Around the World: Asia with presentations by artists, musicians, dancers, storytellers and youth performers from many cultures and traditions. 

Upcoming museum programs include:

Tuesday, March 29 – Sunday, April 3 NanoDays Continue! Go small, go smaller, go nano. Delve into hands-on activities and discover the big deal about the smallest science. 

Saturday, April 2 Around the World: Creative Kids at 2 p.m. will cover Turkish artistry. Kids can try paper marbling and decorate a tile with Turkish-inspired designs. For ages two and up. 

On Thursday, April 7 Get Into It!  From 5 to 8 p.m., kids can get free admission, books, and take-home activities. For ages 0 to five.

The Open Arms program set for Saturday, April 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. provides reduced admission to families that have special needs.

The Open Arms program offers vacation week drop-off Monday, April 11 to Friday, April 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
