On Friday, around 11:20 a.m., police received a report of a vague bomb threat directed at the Enfield Square Mall. The threat had been called into a store in the Square, police said.

Enfield Police were told that "there was a bomb somewhere in the Enfield Square” - a large area to search.

As a measure of caution, Enfield Square and Target were evacuated while police conducted a search to find any explosives or other such hazards, police said. Explosives-detecting K-9s and Homeland Security were also brought in to search.

In the end, no hazardous devices were found, police said.

“No suspicious or hazardous devices were loathed on the premises,” Enfield Police said.

Enfield Square and Target were reopened by 3 p.m., Friday.

Enfield Police said that they do not believe the threat was credible and that there is no threat to the public.

An investigation into the bomb threat is ongoing, police said.
