During the week, from , Nov. 16 to Nov. 20, students will celebrate international cultures with music and dance, international clothing and sports jerseys, acts of kindness, art projects, and international foods at lunchtime.
Participation in the following schedule for the week is confirmed at Newtown Middle School (grades 7-8), Reed Intermediate School (grades 5-6), Hawley Elementary School, Middle Gate Elementary School and Head of Meadow Elementary School.
The schedule of events includes:
- Monday: International Culture Day (movie, music and dance) Tuesday:I nternational Heritage Day (ethnic clothes or international sport jerseys)
- Wednesday: Language Appreciation Day (learn how to say hello in five languages)
- Thursday: International Kindness Day (act of kindness locally and think globally)
- Friday: International Arts/Music Day (listen to international music and/or work on an international art project)
International Education Week is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education.
It is an opportunity for schools, colleges, businesses, associations and community organizations to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.
