The contest was hosted by STEM Forward at the Waukesha County Technical College in Peewaukee, Wis. High school teams from all over the country competed at the national event.
The Danbury team recently won first place at the regional contest during the Lower Hudson Engineering Expo in White Plains, N.Y.
Four of the team members from Danbury High School who participated in the national competition were Steven Schwab, Anjali Pai, Alexandra Prendergast and Fawaaz Shaffeullah, led by CPEP’s team adviser Linda Kimble.
The Rube Goldberg Machine Contest challenges teams of high school students, participating in an engineering program, to build a machine to do a very simple task in a complicated way. Students transform everyday materials into their own wacky and innovative machines.
