Bethel Native, Congressional Aide Runs For State Rep In Bethel, Newtown

BETHEL, Conn. -- Bethel native Raghib Allie-Brennan, a Congressional aide for U.S. Rep. Alma Adams of North Carolina, has entered the race for state representative for the 2nd House District, which includes parts of Redding, Bethel, Danbury and Newtown, The Redding Pilot reported.

Allie-Brennan will begin his campaign in Connecticut in the middle of April, after finishing his tenure with Adams, the Redding Pilot reported.

Allie-Brennan, who is a Democrat, said he first grew interested in policy and politics while at Marymount Manhattan College, where he took a class that discussed the failures of the federal government after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, the Redding Pilot reported.
