Woman Eats Crack Cocaine During Takedown By Narc Squad, Stamford Police Say

A woman was nabbed by the Stamford Police Narc Squad after allegedly stuffing a couple of bags of crack cocaine in her mouth when approached by officers.

Kelly Palmer, 48, of Bridgeport, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, after agents received a tip that she would in town to sell the drugs out of her silver Toyota Camry, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin.

When Palmer arrived at her destination on Stillwater Avenue, awaiting officers boxed in her car and moved to remove her from her vehicle. 

While officers approached, Palmer locked her car doors, opened her center console and removed what police believed were two bags of crack cocaine and stuffed them in her mouth, Conklin said.

After asking her to open her door numerous times, police broke the window, unlocked the door and removed her from the vehicle, he added.

Once outside, officers reached in her mouth and removed one bag that contained 44 baggies of crack cocaine, Conklin said. They believe she may have swallowed the other bag, but are not sure.

Palmer was arrested and charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and interfering with police. She was released after posting a $50,000 bond.
