Bridgeport Man Shoves Cop At Milford Restaurant, Police Say

A Bridgeport man is in hot water with local law enforcement in the area after allegedly becoming combative and shoving a police officer attempting to break up an unruly group at an area restaurant.

Members of the Milford Police Department were dispatched to Village Bistro on Merwin Road at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13, where there was a report of an unruly group in the building.

According to police, the investigation into the group led to the arrest of Bridgeport resident Sebastian Tavarez, who is accused of shoving and grabbing a police officer by the arm who was investigating the initial call.

Tavarez, 27, was arrested and charged with breach of peace and interfering with an officer. Following his processing at Milford Police Headquarters, Tavarez was released on his own recognizance and scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 6 to respond to the charges.
