Cortney Francis Troccolla, 28 was encountered by a K9 officer and police officer when they arrived early for a shift on April 23, police said.
The officers smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the woman and asked her why she was there, according to police. She said that she had accompanied her boyfriend, who had turned himself in on a warrant, police said. Officers asked where her vehicle was parked, and she said it was in the rear parking lot at the police department, according to police.
The officers then walked with Troccolla to her vehicle, at which time she said that she had a small amount of marijuana in her vehicle, said police. An officer and K9 officer conducted a free air sniff around the vehicle, according to police.
The K9 officer alerted to the presence of a controlled substance in the vehicle, police said. The K9 was then placed inside the vehicle, where he indicated a positive alert for a controlled substance inside a pocketbook, according to police.
The officers searched the pocketbook and seized 20 full bags of heroin and syringes, said police.
Troccolla was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, narcotics and use or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia. She was arrested and released after posting $500 cash bond. She is due in Danbury court May 10, said police.
