More than $5,000 was raised in six hours at the sold-out event.

All stylists and staff worked for no pay, and donated the price of their hair cuts to the building of a handicap house for 22-year-old Army Ranger Sean Pesce, who returned from Afghanistan with life-altering injuries.

Pesce was shot 13 times and had a bullet sever his spine while serving as a U.S. Army ranger. Now paralyzed from the waist down, he is seeking to build a house that will accommodate the challenges he faces on a day-to-day basis.

Money is still trickling in from those who couldn’t get appointments nor make the drive to Newtown.

Homes for Our Troops is a nonprofit organization building specially adapted, mortgage-free homes nationwide for the most severely injured Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan.
