The lessons are from 9-11:30 a.m. Mondays at Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main St., Newtown, beginning March 14. The lessons offered at the club emphasizes fun and learning from playing. Beginners will play in a game during their first lesson. The format is a 20-25 minute lesson followed by two hours of play.
“Players enjoy meeting others who are learning the game and many friendships are formed at the bridge table,” said Georgeann Kishner, who will present the lessons.
Players are encouraged to come to the lessons alone or with friends. The first four weeks of lessons are free; starting at week five, the cost is $12 per lesson. An optional textbook is available for $15. The final lesson will be June 8.
The Newtown Bridge Club is affiliated with the American Contract Bridge League. The club has four sanctioned duplicate bridge games each week: Mondays at 12:30 p.m., Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. and Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
