Winter Weather Advisory Issued: Plan On Slippery Road Conditions During Morning Commute A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for much of the area as a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain will cause travel difficulties overnight into Tuesday morning. The advisory is in effect for 1 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8 in areas north of I-287 and the Merritt Parkway. (Areas in purple in the image above.) Plan on slippery road conditions overnight and early tomorrow morning and use caution while driving, the National Weather Service says. Gazebo Fire Spreads To Stamford Home A fire was nearly too hot to handle for a Stamford family when a blaze broke out in a gazebo and spread to a Glenbrook home. Crews from the Stamford Fire Department were dispatched to an Oscar Street home shortly before 4 a.m. on Tuesday morning, where there were multiple reports of a gazebo fire in the back of the house. Upon arrival at the home, firefighters found a gazebo fully engulfed in flames, which had spread to the back of the two-story home. The explosion happened around 5 a.m. Tuesday at 10 Deepwood Lane, according to the Norwalk Fire Department. All the windows and doors were blown off the house, the department said.
