NEW CANAAN, Conn. Freshman Lindsey Schmid of New Canaan hit her first collegiate home run for the Babson College softball team in a 5-2 win against Lesley College last week in Babson Park, Mass.
Schmids blast came in the first game of a doubleheader, and Babson won the nightcap, 14-1.
The victories came in a seven-game win streak for Babson, which finished 23-16 during the regular season. Babson earned the No. 2 seed in the New England Womens and Mens Athletic Conference playoffs, which open Tuesday.
Schmid has played in 19 games and started 11 for Babson.
