NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Michael Collins, a senior at New Canaan High School, was recently named a News 12 Connecticut Scholar Athlete.
A record-setting quarterback for the football team, Collins’ achievements on the gridiron include a nine-touchdown pass performance against Trumbull.
Collins is also a standout student, and a volunteer with “Staying Put New Canaan,” an organization that helps senior citizens stay in their homes.
Collins was accepted by the University of Michigan as a preferred walk on, but declined.
He has committed to the University of Pennsylvania, and will begin attending classes there next fall.
