New Canaan Girls Track Wins 2 Meets

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – The New Canaan High School girls track team defeated Stamford and Fairfield Ludlowe in a meet Monday. The Rams topped Stamford, 108-36, and Ludlowe, 88-63.

Maureen Schott won the 400 and took second in the 100, 200 and triple jump for the Rams. Isabelle Herde won the shot put and javelin. Other Rams who won individual races included Stephanie Benko (1,600), Emily Wood (800), Alexis Najarian (high jump), Beth Kelly (pole vault) and Molly Joyce (discus).

Top three finishers for New Canaan included:

100m Hurdles – Cristina Konstantinovic, 3rd place (00.18.98)

100m Dash – Maureen Schott, 2nd place (00.13.36)

1600m– Stephanie Benko, 1st place (05.32.70); Lilly Baer, 3rd place (06.01.00)

400 – Maureen Schott, 1st place (01.05.70 sec); Azadeh Amir-Aslani, 3rd place (01.07.30)

300m Hurdles – Cristina Konstantinovic, 3rd place (00.56.13)

800 – Emily Wood, 1st place (02.39.19); Elizabeth Gordon, 3rd place (02.48.04)

200 – Maureen Schott, 2nd place (00.27.70)

3200 – Lana DelVecchio, 2nd place (12.53.50)
