San Sebastian is a member of the Endesa League, the top league in Spain, Hanley has previously played in the league for Valencia, the team’s website said. He averaged 4.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in four games for Valencia.
He started the 2012-13 basketball season with Oviedo Club Baloncesto in the third tier league of Spanish basketball, where he helped them win the championship. He led the league in scoring and rebounding and was named the league’s Most Valuable Player.
Hanley starred at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, leading the Polar Bears in points and rebounds per game in his senior and junior seasons, and finished second in school history in rebounds with 883 over his four years.
The 2008 graduate of New Canaan High School was named All-State, First-Team All Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference, during his senior year, according to his player biography on Bowdoin’s team website. He also led the Rams to its best record in school history, while being the team leader in scoring, assists, rebounds and steals, the biography said.
