James Mancaruso, a member of the Sachem School Board of Education, stepped down from his position after allegedly yelling and cursing at a female student on the Sachem East High School campus in Farmingville.
According to News 12, Mancaruso received a pair of phone calls last week cautioning that his child was in danger and about to be attacked by other students, prompting him to head to the high school.
It is alleged that a teenage girl was confronted during the incident, verbally attacked, and cursed at.
“Last week there was an incident at East High School that involved a board trustee,” Sachem Schools Superintendent Christopher Pellettieri stated during the district’s latest board meeting. “It is under investigation, is being taken incredibly seriously, and has resulted in an action today.”
