New Canaan's Finance Board OKs $141M Budget Plan

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – New Canaan’s Board of Finance recently approved a $141.2 million budget plan for upcoming fiscal year 2015-16, according to newcanaannewsonline.com.

The budget represents a spending increase of 2.3 percent over fiscal year 2014-15, newcanaannewsonline.com reported.

The town hopes to spend about 3.3 percent more on the Police Department but at the same time cut proposed Fire Department spending by 3.6 percent, according to newcanaannewsonline.com.

The Board of Selectmen will refer the spending plan to the Town Council for review and public hearing before final approval this spring.
