Marian Brennan of New Canaan was arrested around 9:27 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, after new officer Robert Rizzitelli noticed Brennan drinking from a green bottle on Elm Street while driving, said the New Canaan Police.
When stopped, the officer found that Brennan was drinking an alcoholic beverage and she was asked to perform the standard field sobriety test, which she failed, police said.
Brennan, who refused to take a blood alcohol test, was charged with driving while under the influence and drinking and driving. She was released after posting $250 bond.
She is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 14.
