The suspect was arrested around 9:30 a.m. on I-91 in Longmeadow near the Connecticut-Massachusetts border. He has not been identified beyond being a Massachusetts male.

There were two victims in the shooting at a 105 Edwin Road logistics company, police said. The men received non-life-threatening injuries, said South Windsor Police Sgt. Marc Celeverdon during a 1 p.m. press conference Tuesday, Sept. 22.

One man was shot in the leg and the other man may not have been shot, but instead caught shrapnel in his body, police said.

The incident is still under investigation.

The shooting happened in the company parking lot following an argument, police said. The person who was shot was the likely target of the shooting. The violence is an isolated incident, police said.

After the shooting, the suspect allegedly fled, police said, and a victim called 911.

With a description of the vehicle and knowledge of the direction the vehicle fled, police were able to spot the motor vehicle on the highway soon after the shooting.

Once police initiated a “felony” traffic stop, the suspect complied and was arrested without incident, police said. He is being charged with being a fugitive from justice, police said. More charges are anticipated.

Officers retrieved the firearm, a handgun, that was allegedly used in the shooting, police said.

The arrest was made with the aid of Springfield Police, Massachusetts State Troopers, and Enfield Police, as well as South Windsor officers.
