Teen Operating Vehicle Recklessly Killed In Crash On CT Roadway, Police Say

Police say a teen killed in a crash was driving a stolen vehicle in a reckless manner in Connecticut.

The crash took place in New Haven County Wednesday, Nov. 9 in Derby.

Derby Police said witnesses and video surveillance show the 16-year-old driving the stolen motorcycle was operating the bike on Seymour Avenue in a "reckless manner and was ejected after losing control." 

The teen sustained significant injuries and was transported to Griffin Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The juvenile did not have a driver’s license and the motorcycle was determined to be stolen, they added.

The crash closed a section of Seymour Avenue in Derby between Griffin Hospital and Spring Street, police said.
