Kenyon Gay, 41, of Bridgeport and West Haven, was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 15, for the stabbing death of a 39-year-old local man following a dispute, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police.
The killing took place around 6;15 p.m. Monday when Bridgeport resident Razzie Hancock was stabbed in the chest at 136 Bishop Avenue and died as a result of his injuries, Jones said.
Detectives quickly identified a suspect and Gay was arrested and charged with murder, possession of a dangerous weapon and assault.
"Excellent police work by the patrol division and detectives led to the quick apprehension of Gay, said Bridgeport Police Capt. Brian Fitzgerald.
Police have not released information regarding a woman who suffered a cut to her eye during the attack, but she reportedly had a previous romantic relationship with Gay, according to multiple sources.
Gay is being held on $1,000,000 bond.
The investigation continues.
