A teenager is facing charges for hosting a party with dozens of underage minors drinking, police said.
The New Canaan Police Department received a noise complaint shortly before 10 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, from a Colonial Road resident reporting a potential party involving minors.
Upon arrival, police said that officers found three minors in the backyard of the home, and two others standing inside an open garage. One of the teens standing in the garage was identified as David Cochran, 18, who said he was having a get together with five or six friends at his family's home.
Further investigation into Cochran’s claim found that approximately 60 juveniles were in the basement of the Colonial Road home, with dozens of beer cans and liquor bottles littered throughout the basement.
Cochran was issued a misdemeanor summons for permitting minors to possess alcohol and failure to halt possession of alcohol by a minor. He was also cited for possession of alcohol by a minor in a public or private location, an infraction. Cochran was released on an appearance ticket to appear in court on Friday, Dec. 27 to answer the summons.
